2014 Lockie’s 18th!

Well huge birthday weekend for Lachlan, had family and few of Lockie’s friends joined us for dinner at Hogs Breath Friday on his birthday, then his Birthday Party Saturday night.

Party Saturday night. The party went well I think, wish I could have had more time with everyone. Huge thank you to my cuz Gav for all his good help inside whilst I was trying to get the food ready you were amazing love you heaps xo and of course Kel and Nikki. Also a huge thank you to all who helped in any way to help pull the night together whether it was clean up or on the night I am so grateful it all pulled together although I had a few things I would have liked to have done on the night but ran out of time overall think everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all those who traveled and in general attended and for the lovely gifts Lockie received it all played its part in making it an awesome night for Lachlan one he will remember for awhile and i’m sure he thanked you all individually but I would also like to add well. Just so truly blessed he made it. Xo

2013 40 Hour Famine

Lachlan and Caitlin this year participated on the 40 Hour Famine to raise money and awareness for global hunger. This was Lachlan’s 2nd year and Caitlin and her friend Hannah’s first still being in grade 7. They did a great job.

We are at USQ Toowoomba now and it has just finished. They made lunches and I shouted them a Subway cookie for their efforts.

Feel free to look them up on the 40 Hour Famine website and donate to their efforts.

Other great participants are Hannah Wilton, Chloe Collier, Cameron Collier and Carly Jacobsen.

Here are their links so you can donate to their cause:

  • Lachlan Struthers
  • Caitlin Struthers
  • Hannah Wilton (I can’t find her page…)

Well done to all of you! I would love it if each of you could leave a comment to let us know how you went and what you learnt from this experience.

Cheers,
Matt

2012 40 Hour Famine

This is Lachlan’s first year doing 40 Hour Famine.  He and his mate Felix Taylor did really well.  After footy we had forgotten about it and headed to Coffee Club. The boys had given up not only food but technology and furniture. So the boys had to sit on the floor next to us whilst we had coffee.  the cleaner came over and asked if they were in trouble when we explained she sponsored them and congratulated them for doing a great job.  Later that night the boys went a little over board on the barley sugars having a sugar high and were very funny. But silence came and they had fallen asleep.

Great job guys xo.
